The Würth Group: The Leading Manufactures of Fastening Materials
The world is suffering from a shortage of raw material. Raw materials, substances or materials used in the manufacturing or primary production of goods, are vitally important to both the economy and global industry. It is more important than ever to bring a company to the next level with major initiatives to sell, to produce, and to manufacture.
Humanity needs nature conservation to ensure the future of the planet. Therefore, there needs to be more done to ensure the safety and wellbeing of nature, the planet and of the environment for generations to come. This is an issue which customers are also now demanding is resolved. Not only do customers want the products that they purchase to be of high-quality, but that the products are a more sustainable option.
The Würth Group is a German-based world market leader in its core business: the manufacturing of assembly and fastening materials. The Group is a growth driven operation, which is the reason why the Group is a business built around people who serve more than four million customers from all around the world. The Group has been developing the company with a compound annual growth rate of more than 20 percent with its sales in the year 2020 being 14.4 billion euros and has a foundation which is based on over 81,000 people from across the planet. The Würth Group believe that responsibility is embedded in the company’s DNA.
The Würth Additive Group is a start-up, foundational company within the larger Würth Group. The Würth Additive Group has a hyper-focus on integrating the digital supply chain with the company’s pre-existing physical supply chain solutions. The Würth Additive Group utilises new and innovative technology to cut down the waste involved with the traditional supply chain, which results in a more sustainable product and market as a result. The Würth Additive Group focus on what the company is trying to accomplish. This goes from more commonplace aspects such as customers not being able to find a specific part to broken machinery, to clients recycling manufacturing waste into a consumable good which can then be brough back and repurposed. Customers require a constant increase of quality, for products to be faster, cheaper, longer running, less components for points of failure, and so forth. The Würth Additive Group is focused on its understanding of how to get people comfortable with integrating the digital supply chain and how to and start producing parts in new ways.
The Würth Group was founded in 1945, today the Würth Group is the largest manufacturer of assembly material and construction products in Germany. Therefore, it is vitally important for the Group to go into the innovation process of its products. The Würth Group’s innovation help the Group to find solutions in how to solve the problems and challenges that the company’s customers will face tomorrow.
SWG is a subsidiary of the Würth Group and is the leading manufacturer of screws. Screws are an essential tool in timber and lumber as they are needed to connect wood together. Wood is a renewable raw material which is being increasingly used in construction, not just in houses, but also in industrial and high-rise buildings which are now being erected using timber construction methods. Not only is wood a sustainable raw material, especially if it is responsibly sourced, but it also comes with an aesthetic appeal and is part of the circular economy.
People play a central role in implementing the circular economy and acting sustainably together. However, intentions alone are not enough to improve things for the future. Changing perspectives and focusing on new business principles, calls for innovation and creativity. The Würth Group are therefore supplementing its management processes with modules that provide the company with valuable data about its products and processes. These will form the basis for global sustainability management in the Group.
By working together, the Würth Group can achieve its goal of implementing a circular economy, a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. It is by taking these steps that a more sustainable world can be built for tomorrow.
