Christof Global Impact: The Leading CO2 reduction and waste to value solutions provider

Feb 14, 2022

The global demand for waste and emission reduction solutions has accelerated dramatically over the past ten years. There is ever-increasing pressure for corporations, particularly those with heavy industrial extraction, manufacturing, and processing operations, to reduce waste streams and emissions. This push to more sustainable solutions is driven by a combination of national and local government regulations, rising landfill taxes, rising carbon EU Emissions Trading System prices, and the onset of mandatory circular economy requirements. Additionally, in many cases these companies are coming under increasing institutional shareholder scrutiny to improve ESG credentials and set out decarbonization strategies and climate friendly transition pathways.

Christof Global Impact (“CGI”) is a UK registered, waste to value, CO2–reduction focused company that has been incubated over 25 years by multiple generations of leadership within the Christof Family Group of Companies of Austria.

The Christof Family Group of Companies currently employs more than four thousand staff, and operates in twenty-six locations globally in heavy industries such as chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, waste to value, and emission reduction technologies and projects.

By leveraging the Christof Family Group of Companies’ historical experience, CGI is independently pursuing a path to become the world’s leading CO2 reduction solutions provider with its multi-technology solutions platform, to process waste and transform it into value added products. This exemplifies the circular economy as it reduces and reuses materials in waste streams and enables a reduction in the use of virgin material.

Post COP 26 there is an increasingly urgent need to achieve net zero in the decades ahead.  CGI’s state-of-the-art technologies provide traditional industries with the knowledge and solutions they have been seeking to deliver sustainable outcomes. CGI’s solutions and systems are fully sustainable, and deliver measurable, large-scale CO2 emission reductions.

CGI’S approach combines multiple technologies to eliminate landfill requirements and reduce CO2 emissions, while at the same time generating value. A significant project that CGI is currently working on is a proposal to replace fossil-based fuels with a combination of technologies, including advanced biofuels technology which uses crude algae oil. Another way of replacing fossil-based fuels is by recycling lubricants, engine, and machine oils to up to 98% which give oils in use an almost indefinite life cycle.

Organic waste is one of the biggest causes of CO2 globally, with a third of all food produced going to waste. With its state-of-the-art insect protein and other integrated technologies CGI transforms organic waste streams into multiple high-value products.  By combining recycling, biogas production and thermal waste-to-energy gasification technologies with innovative and proven insect rearing technologies, CGI can entirely eliminate the need for landfilling.

Delivering net-zero solutions is the ultimate goal. CGI’s platform and business model supports twelve of the seventeen UN sustainable development goals by targeting the elimination of 100% waste to create maximum value.  CGI targets 100% food sustainability and measures environmental, economic and social impacts, by integrating sustainable waste management practices through its unique and disruptive multi-level, open platform.  CGI deploys an open platform which allows not only the development of CGI’s own technologies, but also supports industrialization of third-party technologies in partnership with the technology owners.  In all cases the CGI technical team use their expertise to ensure both maximum value creation as well as maximum CO2 emission reductions from its industrialized technologies.

Sustainability is at the very core of CGI.  Where others see waste, CGI sees opportunity – to provide solutions to convert waste to value and reduce CO2 emissions.  The Christof Global Impact platform and its portfolio of disruptive technologies are unique within industry and will help businesses around the world deliver on their stated net zero promises.
